Research, Education and Training Department (RET) is headed by a consultant while the secretariat of the department is headed by an Assist. Director of Administration whom are charged with the responsibility of coordinating the acquisition and impartation of knowledge and man-power capacity building of the hospital.
The department has three units, Staff Training, Residency Training and Health Record Ethics Committee (HREC).
The department comes with a staff strength of fourteen (14) comprising of a Consultant, Admin Officers, Confidential Secretary, Clerical Officers and a Porter. Major functions of the Department
Delineate training programmes that are relevant to the hospital needs as well as make budgetary estimates for attendance of training programmes.
Organizing continuing education programmes for all departments and units of the hospital
Coordinating training schools of the hospital namely: Residency Training, Post Basic Nursing School, School of Orthopaedics Cast technology and school of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology. Similarly, it coordinates activities of unit whose services relate to Research, Education and Medical Library.
